Cathedral Stonemasons Gift

The Chapter House was packed on March 22nd for the latest Friendly Monday event to hear the story of the Stonemasons of Staffordshire who crafted all the stones in the new Cathedral.

Roy Burnett who worked on the project during the 1950's and early 1960s, gave a fascinating insight into the work of Stonemasons.  At the end of the session he made a generous gift to the cathedral on behalf of himself and colleagues of original tools that were used fasion the Cathedral stones.  The cabinet was received by Canon Tim Pullen, Acting Dean. It is currently on display in the Cathedral Undercroft.
