Friends grants for Cathedral projects

Over the last six months The Friends have made three grants totalling £4,200 to support projects at the Cathedral.

1) Haigh Chapel

£1,200 was been awarded for the repair, rehanging and weatherproofing of the oak doors in the Haigh Chapel by specialist conservation firm P R Alcock & Sons Ltd.  This will now enable further work, including the electrics, to make this beautiful space in the ruins useable once again.

2) Cushions and kneelers

£2,500 has been awarded to refurbish cushions and kneelers in the Lady Chapel and Chapel of Gethsemane.

3) Christmas tree and lights

£500 was paid towards new lights and installation of the Christmas tree at the West end of the Cathedral, that sparkled from advent Sunday through to the New Year.
